The adventure begins

My name is Katie Bishop. I am a food writer, based in London, who loves to travel, and loves to eat even more than that. My passions are my motivation, and I will be spending the next few months travelling through the Med, searching out those hidden gems – the undiscovered restaurants, artisan producers, and stunning sights that only the locals seem to know about.
From the home of world-renowned Parmesan and Parma ham in Emilia Romagna, Italy to the ancient islands of Greece, from the olive groves of sun-kissed Corsica and Sicily to the often overlooked Galicia, historic Valencia, and the ‘real’ Ibiza in Spain, I’ll be hunting for the true Mediterranean – its flavours, people, and passions.
But what’s in an experience if you can’t share it? So I’ll be sending all the facts back to you via this monthly blog. I would also love to hear about your experiences, discoveries, and tips for the region.
I hope that between us we can share the joys and simple pleasures of the Mediterranean, and I look forward to experiencing this voyage of discovery with you over the coming months.

05:08:2010 at 3.19pmSlip a little further along the med to Cyprus. About 4kilometres from Paphos Airport, village called MANDRIA. The best fish and chips on the island. Good Luck

05:08:2010 at 5.13pmIn Italy, try out the Hillside Fort Village of Capalbio, it has a Great Wild Boar Restaurant. I have my eldest daughter in Tarquinia and some of the old town Restaurants can provide some excellent dishes either Seafood or Meat.
